When you decide to build a pool, there are many decisions to make. No need to stress about it though, our Operations Manager, David Farrell is going to walk you through it all step by step. The Building Elements
Let’s start with the basics. The building elements that go into constructing your in-ground vinyl liner pool. We’re talking about the walls of your pool, the structural support and the pool deck. These components are what make up the structural integrity of your pool. The quality of these components is vital to the lifespan of your pool. At Fox Pools & Spas, we’re proud of these components. FoxGard® steel walls are made from 14 gauge steel that is encapsulated with a special powder coating to protect from rust and corrosion. Great strength and durability.
The patented Fox X-Brace® technology brings structural engineering components used in bridge and high-rise building construction to your pool walls.
Sundek is a texture paint that is applied onto your broom finished concrete pool deck. It offers many advantages like reducing concrete temperature up to 50%.
Pool Equipment
Every pool will need a pool pump, a filter, lights, steps and a ladder.
The pool pump is in charge of the pool’s circulation system. It pull water from the pool through the skimmers and main drain. It pushes the water through the filter and then returns it to the pool through the main returns.
The filter is what collects all of the debris that can end up in pool water. It captures this debris through the drains on the bottom and through skimmers at water’s edge.
Lights illuminate, steps and ladders give entry and exit points to your pool.

ColorLogic 4.0 LED pool lights provide your pool with brighter and more vivid color lighting. They’re energy efficient and really take your pool design to the next level.
Fox Walk-In® Stairs provide a comfortable and stylish entry to any pool. Made in both six and eight foot spans, you have the option to make the perfect choice for your pool.
A three step pool ladder is included in your pool package. The ladder is installed in the deep end of the pool and you have a choice of hand-rail patterns.
Sanitation & Chlorination
To keep your pool healthy and your water crystal clear, it requires sanitation and chlorination systems. These systems are very technologically advanced and the process of maintaining a pool is relatively easy with these advances. You can actually control all of this through an app on your phone!
Your pool requires chlorine for example to inhibit algae growth and it keeps water safe by neutralizing and attacking any harmful bacteria and microorganisms.
There are a variety of ways your pool can stay clean and healthy through the use of chlorinators, salt systems, UV disinfection systems and robotic pool cleaners.
Automatic chlorinators are kind of like fix it and forget it meals. You load them up and they automatically dispense your chlorine so you don’t have to worry with it.
The salt system takes the salt in your pool and converts it into chlorine minimizing your contact with chlorine. This gives you a fresh take on a traditional pool.
An UV disinfection system uses ultraviolet light to breakdown contaminates in the pool like chloromines. This in turn reduces the amount of chlorine you need in your pool.
You can control your pool, water features, spa and even your landscape lighting with an app through OmniLogic®. It works with or without salt systems.
Dolphin M400 -one of Maytronics top of the line pool cleaners. M400 is a dealer exclusive that will cover most of your pool cleaning. It will vacuum the pool bottom & the walls.

Water Features
Water features take your in-ground pool design to the next level. The soothing sounds of cascading water add endless hours of enjoyment and relaxation to your pool.
Water features come in many forms and options. You can add a spill over hot tub for luxurious hydrotherapy. Add a waterfall cascading over boulders into the pool. Or if you prefer a sparkling arc of water – you’ll want to select deck jets. Adding LED bubblers to a tanning ledge provides a beautiful display of water and color.

Deck jets form shimmering arcs of water from the pool deck into the pool. They can be installed in almost any combination and are adjustable giving you dazzling water effects.
An LED Bubbler can be added to your tanning ledge to take your pool up a notch. LED lighting with a stream shooting 30″ high adds the wow factor to your pool.
What could be more relaxing than to have a spill-over spa attached to your pool? Well maybe sitting in it with a lovely glass of wine! Can’t you just feel the bubbles?
Waterfalls incorporate both beauty and relaxation into your pool design. Waterfalls come in many different colors and can be customized to your pool configuration.

The Fox Buddy Seat® is an in-wall jetted seat providing you with hydrotherapy massage in pool. You’ll love the contour seats and shade from the umbrella as you take a break.
In-Pool Benches are an in wall PVC bench that gives you relaxing seating on the edge of your pool. They’re available in white, gray or vinyl liner covered.
Pool Features
These pool features are personal choices which impact the design of your in-ground pool. Besides the size and shape of your pool, choosing the coping color and style is a big design element. Of course you may choose the standard white PVC coping, or you may prefer the designer gray accessories which lends an entirely different look.
Another option is to opt for a cantilever coping which is poured in place with the decking.
Many people prefer the beautiful entry vinyl covered stairs offer to the shallow end of the pool. These stairs come in many different shapes and sizes and can be customized to your pool.
Vinyl liner covered stairs offer you an attractive entry to your pool. Straight, curved and more options are available with vinyl lined pool steps..
You can select the designer gray package to complete your pool instead of the usual white. Fox Pools offers this gray accessory option to customize your pool.
Cantilever coping is a poured in place bull nose concrete edge that overhangs and extends around the perimeter of your pool. It replaces traditional PVC coping.

Once all of the previously listed decisions are made, it is now time to Think FUN!

Heating & Cooling
You have options when it comes to heating and cooling your pool water. You can warm up the water temperature to extend your swimming season with a pool heater. Some people use their pools year-round. You can also cool the water temperature if you find in the hottest days of summer it gets just a little to warm for your tastes with a heat/cool pump. Check out the options.
A HeatPro® pool heat pump will raise the water temperature 15 to 20 degrees above the outside temperature. This will extend your swimming season.
When pool parties aren’t just for summer, you need a Universal H-Series natural gas or propane pool heater. You’ll love being able to use your pool any time of the year.
